Westfest Volunteering Update



New Volunteer are always welcome at Westfest.  New for 2017, Westfest Volunteer Information on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/westfestvolunteerinfo/ - is the new home page for New Volunteers who are interested in signing up.  The links on this blog will continue to be maintained, but no new Volunteer Information will be posted here.  Thanks to all for reading past blog posts.  And I'll see you in June!

Project SoundCheck Resources

As a follow-up to the 2016 Volunteer Orientation, we promised to share the Bystander Intervention materials that were discussed briefly at the meeting.  We all have a role to play to End Sexual Violence at Mass Gatherings.  Feel free to pass this information on to anyone.

2016 Volunteer Orientation, Tues May 3 at Laroche Park

Details for 2016 Volunteer Orientation Meeting:


Date:    Tuesday May 3
Time:    6pm until 8pm
Place:   OUR NEW LOCATION: Laroche Park field house
See link to Google map on the right. Laroche Park is the yellow star.

The park is located at Stonehearst Ave and Burnside Ave./Bayview Rd., 1 block north of Scott St (access from Scott St. via either Carruthers or Bayview).  The field house is on the west side of the park near Stonehearst Ave.  Street parking is available.  Snacks & drinks will be provided.  

In addition to the usual volunteer topics, the Sexual Assault Network (http://www.sanottawa.com/) to attend and provide a 20 minute presentation, where they will share information on how we can all help make Westfest a safer place for all volunteers and festival-goers.  See also the new Westfest Experience page - http://www.westfest.ca/info/the-westfest-experience - for our Westfest values.

For long-standing returning volunteers: if you have too many past year Westfest t-shirts and would be willing to donate them, please bring them with you to the May 3rd meeting.  I’ll explain more when we get there.
